Art has been a part of my life for as far back as I can remember. From the time I could hold a pencil I've always liked to sketch, draw and create. I never had any formal training in art, other than a few classes in school. Most of my skill is a mixture of natural ability and self taught skills. As I got older I began looking for books to learn from, or would study others work to learn how they did what they did. I suppose its should come as no surprise that I've ended up in the business of decorative painting, just my life coming full circle.
This section of my site is devoted to various forms of the graphic arts, whether that be photography, sketches and painting, or 3D computer generated images. Photography is something I'm still learning about and digital cameras have opened up whole new possibilities. Without the expense of film and with the computer editing capabilities available now you can do a lot with digital photography. So I've taken the advice of a friend and when I go out I take my camera with me an "click away". Pencil sketches were the first form of art I ever attempted and its still my favorite. Over the years I've drawn everything from space ships to portraits, to landscapes to beautifully drawn and decorated maps. Unfortunately a lot of that art has been lost over the years, as it was not kept in a safe place. What is displayed here is mostly what I have done recently. A third type of art that is a very recent interest is 3d computer generated art / images. This is a really amazing form of graphic art with almost unlimited possibilities. The software used to create these images is constantly being improved and it just keeps getting better. I've seen some very talented artist in this field create CG images so realistic they could be mistaken for photographs of real people and places. I'm not quite that good yet, but not every image aims for photorealism either.
