Portrait of Daisy Muller

Sometimes you take inspiration from surprising places.  In this case it was someone I didn’t know who made me laugh and also happened to be a very attractive model.  This past week has been chaotic and a little frustrating, so some laughs were very welcome.  So when Daisy Muller managed to “quack” me up on Twitter a couple of times, I took the notion to sketch a portrait of her based on a photo she’d posted.  Below is the result.

Daisy Muller Portrait

The sketch was done entirely digitally using my graphic tablet and paint program.  This is my first attempt doing a realistic sketch entirely digitally.  It took a bit to work out all the correct brush settings and other tools.  I found some of Stan Prokopenko’s tutorial videos helpful and I especially found Stephanie Valentin’s tutorial on How to Draw Realistic Hair very helpful.   If you are an artist struggling with this kind of digital art, I suggest you check out their videos.

And of course, special thanks to Daisy for being my unsuspecting Muse.

The above portrait will be going up in my gallery later today.  Enjoy!

I’ll be posting some articles on RPG Maker events later this weekend so check back.
